The families of homosexuals
- What characterises families, unrelated to the sexual orientation of its members, is that they consist of individuals who are bound by legal and moral commitments to each other.
- Homosexual couples as well as heterosexual ones can have their cohabitation registered in the National Register. With the passing of the Act on registered partnership, homosexuals in a registered partnership are ensured the same rights as married couples.
- Homosexual couples have the same right to adopt children as heterosexual couples.
- A woman who is cohabiting or in a registered partnership with another woman has the same right to artificial insemination as heterosexual couples.
- Homosexuals can register their partnership through either a civil or religious ceremony, conducted by district magistrates, their deputies, religious ministers or heads of registered religious associations that are authorised to solemnise the union.
